How to Ship Your Tapes

Getting your memories to us is easy. Follow these simple steps and your media will be on its way to becoming digital.

Step 1 — Place Your Order First

Complete your order on our website before shipping. You'll receive an order confirmation email with your order number — you'll need it for Step 3.

Step 2 — Find a Sturdy Box

Any solid cardboard box works. Free Priority Mail boxes from your local post office are a great option — the Medium size fits most orders. Make sure your box has enough room for your media plus padding on all sides.

Step 3 — Pack Your Media Safely

- Wrap your tapes, photos, or cassettes in bubble wrap, packing paper, or even clean kitchen towels — anything that keeps them from shifting during transit
- Write your order number on a piece of paper and place it inside the box (this is how we match your media to your order — don't skip this!)
- If you're sending photos or slides, bundle them together so they stay flat and protected
- Fill any empty space in the box so nothing rattles
- Seal all seams with packing tape

Step 4 — Ship It To Us

Our shipping recommendations:

- Always use tracking — USPS Ground Advantage and Priority Mail both include it
- Consider adding insurance — your memories are irreplaceable, and per our service policy, your media is your responsibility until it arrives at our facility
- Keep your tracking number until we confirm your package has arrived
- Most customers spend $10–20 on shipping depending on how many tapes they send

Step 5 — We Take It From Here

The moment your package arrives, we'll send you a confirmation email. Then we get to work digitizing your memories with care. When everything is complete, you'll receive:

- A secure cloud download link by email with all your digital files
- Your original media shipped safely back to you with tracking

A Few Helpful Tips

- Labeling your tapes helps! If your tapes have labels like "Christmas 1992" or "Beach Trip," we'll use those as your digital file names so everything is easy to find
- No need to rewind — we handle that
- Don't ship tapes in their plastic clamshell cases if space is tight — bubble wrap protects them just as well and saves room
- Sending 15+ items? Split them between two smaller boxes rather than one heavy one — it's often cheaper to ship and safer in transit
